Michael Nicholson is an established commercial photographer specialising in architectural and interiors photography.
He has a degree in architecture from the University of Sydney, and a deep appreciation and understanding of the most engaging ways in which to represent architectural work photographically – making him the photographer-of-choice for a number of Australia’s leading architects.
Michael has undertaken photographic assignments across Australia and Asia over the past 25 years, receiving a number of photographic awards. His images appear in a number of galleries, including the National Gallery of Australia, and consistently in quality publications such as Habitus, indesign, and Architecture Australia.
His work is widely featured in specialist architecture books, including most recently and exclusively in ‘Under the Edge – the Architecture of Peter Stutchbury'.
Michael has also completed the principal photography for a new monograph on the Frank Gehry designed Dr. Chau Chak Wing Building at UTS, Sydney, published in 2015.
